Exploring Strings with Lucy

Strings are the foundation of many Zentangle tiles — lightly drawn pencil lines that divide your paper into sections and guide your patterns. In this session, Lucy will show you how to create, adapt, and respond to strings in a relaxed and intuitive way. You’ll learn how strings encourage freedom, not rules, and how to use them as a flexible starting point for your creative journey.
Fragments & Meta-Patterns with Mary

This session dives into one of the Zentangle method’s most fascinating techniques: fragments — small repeating designs that can be arranged to form stunning larger patterns. Mary will guide you through how to combine and rotate fragments to build beautiful artwork. It’s a magical way to see how tiny details can come together into something much bigger.
Shading for Depth & Drama with Becky

Shading is where Zentangle really comes to life. In this class, Becky will teach you how to use simple pencil shading to add depth, contrast, and dimension to your tiles. You’ll learn easy, effective techniques for making your patterns pop, creating light and shadow, and giving your artwork a rich, three-dimensional feel — no drawing experience needed!

Lucy
Living in Welwyn Garden City where she runs her business Gratitude Graphics. She teaches in-person classes in Hatfield and also online lessons. Lucy brings calm and clarity to her sessions, helping students slow down and enjoy the creative process.
Mary
Based in Ware, with a beautiful studio in Harlow where she teaches in-person and online classes with her business Indeezone, Mary is a passionate and encouraging teacher who creates gentle, welcoming classes for all experience levels.
Becky
Becky became a CZT in 2023 and set up her business Ivy’s Corner, inspired by her mum, who first introduced her to Zentangle. She now teaches online and shares free content on her Instagram and YouTube
